WordPress for Domain Development

I have been getting a lot of development work for domain names recently with the owners wanting them to be build using the WordPress platform. Its mainly because it is so versatile and allows developers like me to develop both static and blog like websites and on the other hand also allows the Owners of the domain who have a bit of experience on HTML as well have hands on blogging platform helping them to change the content by themselves.

Because WordPress is open source (WordPress can be downloaded from WordPress.org) there is a myriad of great plugins to be found at the WordPress.org website. There are a large number of very helpful and free plugins that can be used to improve the SEO of the website.

Obviously, WordPress is essentially designed as a blogging platform but there are many ways in which the wordpress can be modified to be used as a static website CMS and personally I have not found any deficiencies as compared to other CMS platforms including Joomla, Drupal etc (I won’t even mention the ease of deployment of WordPress as compared to the other mentioned CMS platforms).

Additionally, the themed aspect of WordPress allows you to quickly throw together a great WordPress powered website within minutes by using professionally designed themes from Revolution Theme, Unique Blog Designs, Premium News Theme, One-Theme, ThemeForest and other theme sites. Though i recommend and use the PSD to Theme concept but if one is able to find the theme exactly to their requirement, its a bonus.
